Artisanal ice cream guide in Barcelona

There's nothing better than a tasty cold ice cream on a sunny day, which is often the case in Barcelona. So why not to treat yourself with a creamy gelato? 

GoBarsa have prepared a list of must visit artisanal gelato places in Barcelona. So let's try them all!

Prices start from 2,50 euro for a scoop. Most of the gelaterías also offer pancakes, waffles, granizados and other sweet stuff.

Don't forget to ask to try some before buying!

OGGI Gelato

We want to applaud to@oggibarcelona for having such a wide range of different and unique flavours. And, OMG, the smell inside the shop is divine - something between chocolate and vanilla. Our personal favourites are salted peanuts and hazelnut.

Carrer dels Banys Nous, 22

So here's the review. One word - the B-E-S-T. We aren't surprised they have excellent gelato and unique flavours (some would die for their "cheesecake"😅). The main thing that amazed us was their attitude to work. You could easily see that they love what they do and more than happy to help you find your favourite gelato taste. Btw, why "Mannà"? 'Cause it's raining gelato, hallelujah! 

Cremería Toscana

This time we checked @cremeria_toscana at Carrer de Princesa . The fruit gelato is tasty, creamy and gave us the sensation of eating a real fruit. But we were surprised that it melted even faster than other gelato we had tried, so we suggest you take a cup and not a cone. The other thing that upset us, they didn't offer us to try some before buying. But the overall impression is positive and we advised you to visit it. 

Shanti Gelato

 The gelato was fine, and they have some unique taste like red wine (although, not always, so we're coming back to try it). The most that surprised us was that cucurucho (the waffle) itself was amazing - crunchy and tasty. So we definitely recommend@shantigelato . A lot of gluten free and vegan options.

Apart from excellent traditional Italian gelato they have a wide range of pastry, such as delicious cannoli siciliani, tiramisu or frozen fruit ice in a form of funny bears.

Gocce di latte

From the very start the very good news for all our vegan friends: these guys have the other place nearby, which is called "Gocce Vegan", and it has an enourmous amount of vegan, gluten free options. 

As for the one we visited, it has some interesting flavours too. We enjoyed the ripe taste of tangerine and  seductive fusion of dates and cardamom.  Btw, the service needs to be improved. We felt as if we were not welcome there.

El tío Che

Although this place is not a typical gelateria but we'd like to include it because of its rich history. Horchatería"El Tío Che"  works from 1912. It has still a lot to offer from а traditional "horchata" (a Spanish drink made from a nut - chufa) to cones (cucuruchos), which any Spanish know from their childhood.
