Where to Eat in Barcelona: Top 10 Barcelona Restaurants for Breakfast and Brunch

If you follow us on Instagram, you might have noticed that we're a bit of brunch lovers.  We always go around the city searching for the best spots or restaurants to tell you about. Because there's nothing better than starting a sunny day in Barcelona enjoying a lovely brunch.

The average ticket - 10 - 15 euros.

Can Dendê

Carrer de la Ciutat de Granada, 44

When you step in a coffee place, you don't expect to be treated like a king, but believe it, the closest to that is what we feel at Can Dendé. It's our number 1 brunch spot not only for the carefully-chosen quality of food, but also for the friendly attention from its owners.

No doubt: our number 1.

Pros: food, food, food.

Cons: Can Dende is starting to pay the price for its fame. Also we find the place a little bit small. That means some short-medium waitings.

Mama´s Café

Carrer de Torrijos, 26

Vila de Gràcia is one of those chilling and trendy areas in Barcelona where cool and modern people live or have a business. There's located our number 2. Mama's Café will offer you great brunches for hungry people and you can enjoy them while sitting out at the terrace.

Pros: nice atmosphere, enough room and no waitings.

Cons: they made us pay 50 cents for a jar of tap-water

Taber Café

Carrer del General Álvarez de Castro, 5-7

Nearby the market of Santa Caterina there is this tiny coffee place. Why our 3rd? Cakes. They make delicious fresh cakes, and we love sitting there while listening to an old vinyl record and unhurriedly enjoying one of those cakes.

Pros: Their carrot cake and it's a tourist-free coffee place.

Cons: only 5 tables make it hard to find a free one

Granja Petitbo

Passeig de Sant Joan, 82

I instantly fell in love with Granja Petitbo when they opened back in 2012. The nice decoration, the quality of its menu and the great atmosphere, which invites you to spend a long time chilling in front of a tasty brunch and magazine. Unfortunately, we feel those times are gone. They keep the quality of the menu, but the long line (forget the idea of having a brunch on weekends without long waits) prevents you from getting into.

Pros: fresh natural juices and midday lunch menu.

Cons: too crowdy

Cup and cake (Brunch and Cake)

Carrer Enric Granados, 145 and 19

You will find several Cup & Cakes in Barcelona, specially located nearby Diagonal Avenue. Young staff, modern decoration, great brunches and donuts. Definitely a good place to visit if you live around.

Pros: Tasty food.

Cons: No special atmosphere. I found the place a little franchise-looking.

Milk Bar & Bistro Restaurant

Web / Instagram

Carrer Gignàs, 21

Milk was one of the first to arrive in Barcelona with the "brunch" concept. Until they arrived, the locals had used to have a classical "desayuno" between 10-11 am or the classical lunch between 2-3 pm. Milk showed us the Anglo-Saxon way for "brunching": English breakfast, eggs and pancakes.

Pros: good atmosphere.

Cons: very touristic and crowded at the week-end.

OMA Bistro

Carrer del Consell de Cent, 227

In the middle of a gay and gay-friendly area called Eixample, you'll find Oma Bistro. Nice place for having a good brunch. They also serve lunch everyday. Oma is in our list because we felt very comfortable the couple of times we went. A perfect place for sittting next to the big windows and watching people coming and going.

Pros: a spacious place with a big rounded table for a long chat with your friends.

Cons: not as good as we expected, but neither is a bad place to eat.

The Juice House

WebInstagram

C/Parlament, 12

The Juice House is our special gift to all our vegetarian, vegan or allergic to gluten friends. But it doesn't really matter "which side"you choose. We are sure that everybody will enjoy the atmosphere, the colourful decoration and, of course, the food. The Juice House has a lot to offer and surprise you with. We are still under the impression of the fresh juice with beetroot and mouth-watering vegan pancakes.

Pros: clean and healthy food.

Cons: it can be extremely hot in summer because there's no air-conditioning as the place is nature-friendly.

Federal Café

WebInstagram

Carrer del Parlament, 39

The place was named after a small city in Australia, where's nothing to do but dream. We find it a very true and exact description as you will be peacefully left alone with your food, and you will have all the time in the world to read, contemplate or imagine.

Pros: nice food, the place is spacy and airy.

Cons: the service is not really fast.

Trópico

Carrer del Marquès de Barberà, 24

Next we're there, we're definitely bringing our camera with us to have a short photoshoot. The interior is gorgeous. Even in the cocktail decoration you can see their love for details.

Pros: wonderful design, nice concept, tasty cocktails.

Cons: too touristic

We also recommend:
